What is ESF? The European Social Fund (ESF) aims to promote a high level of employment together with equal opportunities, sustainable development and economic and social cohesion. In order to achieve this objective the ESF support several measures to foster people’s employability and promote social integration in the labour market. The ESF framework for the period 2000-2006 has been redefined to support the European Employment Strategy as part of the Agenda 2000 reform of the Structural Funds.
