Theme IPillar Four - Equal Opportunities for women and men Theme I: Helping asylum seekers to integrate. The aim is to develop an employment strategy which is appropriate to the needs of asylum seekers, and those allowed to live and work in the UK. Equal provides support for: - Those whose application is under consideration;
- Those who have been admitted under a humanitarian resettlement or evacuation programme;
- Those who have not been granted refugee status but who benefit from another form of protection (UK -exceptional leave to remain);
- a limited number of cases where decisions are not made within 6 months. In any case where the individual is entitled to work in the UK they will need to be covered in the employment strategy.
