Themes

EQUAL differs from mainstream ESF funding and previous Community Initiatives by its thematic approach to testing new ways of delivering policy priorities.  The thematic approach explores new ways of tackling the problems common to different types of discrimination and inequality, rather than focusing on a specific target group.  This approach helps with mainstreaming.  Equal's thematic approach encourages wide and diverse partnerships that cover all the expertise and representation required to deliver the best, most innovative solutions to the identified problems.
