Priority 2 – Addressing Social Exclusion

Priority 2 supports activity which aims to combat social exclusion of particular groups within society (such as minority ethnic groups, lone parents, people with disabilities) and exclusion faced by those individuals living in specific urban and rural areas.  Activity can be targeted directly at the individuals concerned or can build the capacity of organisations to support such clients.

There are four Measures within Priority 2 to which applicants can apply for funding.  Each Measure sets out to address social exclusion in the following ways:

Measure 2.1 – supports activity which addresses exclusion faced by individuals, through the provision of an ‘integrated package’ of guidance, training and support measures tailored specifically at the needs of the individual.

Measure 2.2 – provides the same range of support as Measure 2.1, however targets those at risk of exclusion based on their residence in specific urban areas.

Measure 2.3 – is also geographically targeted on rural exclusion.

Measure 2.4 – develops the above activity by providing support to organisations working with specific client groups or on a geographical basis to enhance their services to meet the needs of their client group.

This is only a brief summary of Priority 2.  Further information can be found in the Revised Measure factsheets.

Priority 2 is currently suspended.
